Just Launched! — A New Way To Share Your Visual Roadmaps

by Keith Brown

Building a roadmap is an important part of being a product manager. I do not think anyone would argue that. But here’s something to consider. Your roadmap is useless if it gathers dust sitting on a flash drive or in an outdated spreadsheet. That is why Aha! makes it easy to create, update, and share your visual roadmap with others.

Your roadmap is only as good as your ability to communicate it. Once complete, you need to explain your brilliant plans with colleagues, customers, and partners.

That’s why today we have added the ability to easily create and share strategy and roadmap views. We have done this by adding Save as PDF capabilities throughout Aha!

Now, with one click you can take almost any view in Aha! and quickly create a PDF to share with anyone, without the need to do additional work. Previously, you could generate PNGs of any view in Aha!, as well as create Notebooks to publish your views as secure web pages.

Here are some examples of what you can create and export as PDFs right now:

Share a roadmap with stakeholders Business partners want to see the meaningful features that are coming soon. And they wanted to see it yesterday. Now you can quickly share a PDF of your Features Roadmap. This conveys new features, key initiatives, and strategic goals.

Simply click the Add to Notebook button on any view and select the Save as PDF option.

Visualize your strategy Your strategy is brilliant. And now you can proudly display your strategy with a diagram that is equally beautiful. Using the visual Strategy Diagram you can connect your roadmap back to your vision and view the red thread of roadmapping throughout.

Above, you can see an image of a Strategy Diagram shown as a PDF in the built-in PDF viewer. In the PDF viewer, you can also change the page orientation before you download your diagram.

Share planned features from customer requests Using an Ideas Portal, you can bring customers and other stakeholders to the innovation table. And when customers are engaged and love your product, they will tell you what they need. But how do you handle and communicate all of their new features requests? Now you can easily share your list of planned ideas with the team, so everyone understands what is coming soon.

Communicate key launch plans Got a key product launch coming up? Now you can export a PDF of a Releases Roadmap so every cross-functional team member is aware of how their work fits in to the larger plan. The Releases Roadmap includes key dependencies, phases, milestones, and features.

Report on team progress If you have a team that works hard, you need to show them some gratitude. Now you can share visualizations using a Reports Chart and brag about team progress.

For example, you could show the number of shipped features in a given time period.

Share important meeting notes Aha! Notes are a great way to capture unstructured product information like meeting notes. You can upload images, create tables, or even mention other users.

Now you can quickly share Notes via a PDF with anyone who may need to stay informed.

Today’s update continues to expand the ways that you can easily share plans with your team. We did this because we know that while we live in a digital world there are often situations where you need to share a document with someone who does not have access to Aha! or you need to review your own documents when you are offline.
