Just Launched! — Aha! Mobile

Aha! mobile app

Product managers are busy people who are always on the go. Your days are packed — in and out of meetings, status updates with the team, and talking with customers. You need to be able to track progress against your product plans quickly, no matter where you are. How do we know this? We are product managers too.

And well, you told us — a lot. We got your emails, your tweets, and hundreds of votes in our ideas portal. Today, we are excited to deliver what you have been asking for.

The Aha! mobile app lets you view, edit, and add records from your iPhone®. Now you really can build product from anywhere.

Aha! helps more than 200,000 users build better products. Customers — from startups to the Fortune 500 — write in to share that our roadmapping software has changed how they set strategy, capture ideas, and prioritize releases and features.

The new mobile app is the perfect companion to our main web-based product management software. Aha! mobile is free to download and available to all trial and paid users. Just make sure you have an account before you download the app.

All of your Aha! records are accessible from the mobile app — including goals, initiatives, master releases, releases, ideas, master features, features, requirements, comments, to-dos, and notes. For now, roadmaps and reports are only viewable from your computer.

Take a look at what you can do from the palm of your hand:

See your assigned work
When you sign in to the app, the home screen shows all records currently assigned to you. This lets you see all of your to-dos and assigned work items in one place so you can prioritize where to focus.

Log in with the same email address and password you use to access your Aha! account.

Find product information fast
View the latest product plans. Navigate to any product or product line to browse and search by record type — including goals, initiatives, releases, features, or ideas. Global search allows you to quickly locate information across your entire Aha! account.

Apply product name and record type filters to narrow your search results.

Edit and comment on features
Keep the forward product momentum going, even when you are not at your desk. Update your product plans — assign features, change status, update descriptions, and add comments.
aha mobile app feature detail
Rich text formatting is not available in the app — feature descriptions that were created via the main web-based application will be read-only in the mobile app.

Add new records to the backlog
You can immediately capture that great new feature idea or important task when it comes to mind — in between meetings, standing in line for coffee, or walking your dog. You can also share and delete Aha! records.

Add new goals, initiatives, master features, features, requirements, ideas, and to-dos directly from your phone.

View real-time product updates
Click through from email notifications on your phone to open any record directly in the mobile app. If you are not currently receiving notifications via email, you will want to update your preferences in the main web application.

Record links that you click on in your email will open in the mobile app.

The new mobile app is perfect for busy product managers. So you can stay connected to your team and your work.

Nice! Was so excited, until I scrolled to the iPhone only comment. But I’ll happily wait, I know it will be a quality app!

I’m curious, I assume your research found that iOS users would be your top segment? With the poor state of iOS now compared to the latest versions of Android (I use both), I find that surprising among product people.

      Hi David,

Thanks for the question. Yes, our research confirmed that our customers were most interested in an iPhone app. But do not worry, we are hard at work on Android and it will be available in the coming months.

Was all stoked until I came across the “This description contains formatting and can only be edited in the Aha! web interface”.

Uhhhh. Well that sucks! Allow editing of descriptions with Rich Text. Geez this is 2018 – why is that little piece so hard? That is like a getting tin of beans with no can opener. So now I’m going to wait for some more months wishing that every Feature that I created in Aha! didn’t have bullet points and bold text…

    🙁

      Hi Shawn,
Thank you for the note and for your feedback. As you know, we move quickly and are always looking for ways to improve Aha!

We know that the editing of rich text is desirable and we have plans to implement it. However, we did not want to hold up the mobile app for other key use cases around the ability to create, view, discover, and collaborate with others on your product.

Any thoughts on how we might take advantage of the mobile application when we have IP address based access control enabled?

      Thanks for the question Dillon,

IP access controls by design are enforced on the mobile app the same way that they are for the web application. If your account has IP access controls enabled, you will only be able to use the mobile app when your device is connected to a network with a whitelisted IP.

It always kills me that there are complaints about first launch of a product… or anger over priority decisions that have been made (that as a complainer, you have zero insight into). We’re all product people, we all know this! Who has ever launched a product that if fully matured on day 1??

Thanks to the Aha team for getting v1 of the mobile app out! Round one looks great and looking forward to seeing how you all build on it over time.
