Just Launched! — Enhanced Google Drive and Dropbox Integrations

by Jessica Groff

Thousands of product managers use Google Drive and Dropbox to share mockups and other key product planning information with their teams. And why wouldn’t they? You can securely store your files including documents, photos, and videos in one place, and make them available to anyone. We like that.

But sometimes, companies and IT administrators have a preference over which file storage system employees should use. And sometimes IT gets what it wants. That is why we are now giving teams complete flexibility and control over their preferred storage systems.

Today’s product launch gives you the ability to better control your Aha! + Google Drive and Aha! + Dropbox integrations.

Aha! administrators can enable or disable these integrations at the account level. With enhanced controls over file sharing, you can be sure that your team has access to shared documents and that they are using the systems your company prefers. Here is how it works.

Attach key files

Our integrations with Google Drive and Dropbox make it easy for teams to share and reference important files. Attach files from either system directly to your product strategy, releases, features, or requirements.

Aha! makes it easy to find and attach multiple documents from cloud file storage systems.

Always stay in sync

Once a shared document is linked, any changes to that document in Google Drive or Dropbox will be seen when the document is previewed in Aha! Because the integrations are unidirectional (you are simply linking to an outside file), work done and data in Aha! will never be shared to Google Drive or Dropbox.

Improved access control

With the latest enhancements, Aha! admins now have the ability to enable or disable file storage integrations at the account level. For example, if Google Drive is your company’s preferred file storage system, your admin may choose to disable the integration with Dropbox.

Admins may disable file storage integrations by going to Settings Account Security and single sign-on File storage control.

Easy configuration for each user

If your admin chooses to disable an integration, it will not appear in the Attach Files modal. As you can see below, the Dropbox integration was disabled — it does not appear as an option for users.

Integrations disabled by the admin will not appear in the Attach Files modal.

Keeping the team in sync and using your company’s preferred systems are important. This latest update makes it seamless to do both. (And yes, we hope that you still have access to the storage system of your choice.)
